What does a Christmas party in Copenhagen cost?

Most places make you send an email to get a price. Here it is. The numbers below are what a Christmas party with us actually comes to, all in .. food, drinks and the whole bar to yourselves.

We usually reply the same day, with a suggestion and a price.

Why there are two prices

The menu alone is 795 kroner per person. Menu plus drinks package is 1,390 kroner per person. We give both, because most places in town quote only the food and add the bar afterwards .. and then 675 kroner turns into 1,400 when the bill arrives.

If you are comparing us with somewhere else, check what is included in their figure. A fixed amount per person is also easier to get approved than a food price plus a bar bill nobody knows in advance .. and that is usually what decides whether the party happens at all.

If you are looking for a Christmas party in Copenhagen where the price is clear up front, we are one of the few places that writes it down. 1,390 kroner per person covers the whole evening, and that is cheaper than most all-inclusive Christmas parties in the city centre.

If you would rather run the drinks on consumption we will do that. Then we set an amount at which we tell you, so the bill is not a surprise for whoever has to approve it.

What the menu is

The house Christmas menu is food for the whole evening: cheese from France, charcuterie from Italy, sourdough from our neighbours at Bageriet BRØD, olives, almonds, herring and the grilled sandwich. Laid out on shared boards and refilled as we go .. not served in courses, and not gone by nine.

The large one adds 200 kroner per person and builds the menu out with outside suppliers: hot dishes, fish, a dessert table. It is the one to choose if the Christmas party is the main event of the evening rather than the run-up to something else.

What is in the drinks package

595 kroner per person for six and a half hours. Wine from the by-the-glass selection .. twenty-one different ones, and they change .. plus beer, soft drinks and non-alcoholic. We pour from the moment you arrive until we close, and nobody orders or pays along the way.

Six and a half hours is set to how long a Christmas party actually lasts. Three hours covers a reception; this has to cover an evening where the last people leave when we close.

Outside the package: bottles from the full list, cocktails and spirits. If you want a particular bottle on the table with the food we will put it there .. it is simply billed separately.

The minimum spend

On Fridays and Saturdays in December there is a minimum of 25,000 kroner for the whole bar. We close for our normal trade for the entire evening, and the figure has to cover it. At twenty-five or more you reach it on your own .. below that a weekday is worth looking at.

Weekdays in December have a minimum of 15,000 kroner. It is the same evening in the same room .. the difference is that we turn down less to keep it free. At between fifteen and twenty people it is almost always the right day.

Outside December there is no minimum for parties under twenty people. If you are holding a New Year lunch in January or a delayed Christmas party, it is both easier to get a date and cheaper to hold.

What the price covers

Included: the whole bar to yourselves, staff all evening, the tables laid, glassware, your own music and the outdoor area under the awning. There is no room hire, no hourly rate, no cleaning fee and no service charge .. the price is the food plus the drinks. Nothing else.

Not included: cake, flowers and an outside musician. We are happy to help arrange them, but they sit outside the price and are billed separately. And we do not take wine you bring yourselves .. we have a list of over a hundred bottles, and they are what we live on.

Write to us

Write how many you are, which week you are looking at and what the budget is per person. You get a price back the same day .. a number you can forward to whoever has to approve it, without needing a meeting first.

If you have a quote from somewhere else, send it along. We will say honestly if we cannot match it, and just as honestly if you get more for your money here.

What it comes to

Both columns are the full amount .. the whole bar to yourselves, staff, the tables laid and glassware are in both. There is no room hire, hourly rate or service charge on top.

Ask early

The popular dates go first, especially Fridays, Saturdays and the whole of December. If you are after a particular day, ask early .. and ask anyway, even if it is in a fortnight. Sometimes there is simply room.
