A young team with a wine bar
Vesterhus is not a concept somebody drew up in a spreadsheet. It is a bar we run because we like having it.
We love wine, but we don't gatekeep it. You don't need to pronounce Gewürztraminer to get a good glass here, and you won't get ten minutes on terroir unless you ask for it. If you do ask, we will happily tell you everything we know.
The bar sits on Istedgade in the middle of Vesterbro. The front opens up when the weather allows, the art on the walls changes as we go, for the coming period with Peleton, the Danish poster house, and a couple of times a month there are musicians standing in the middle of the room. The audience sits close. That is the point.
We also run our own blues week, Vester Blues, and a running crew, Vester Run, that starts and finishes at the bar. It is that kind of place.
The neighbourhood
Istedgade 29 is a few minutes' walk from Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli, and close to Kødbyen, Halmtorvet and Enghave Plads. If you live in Vesterbro, we are your local. If you are visiting, we are where locals actually go.
