What an evening at the bar is like
Vesterhus is a small wine bar on Istedgade with room for around 40 standing. The doors onto the street stand open when the weather allows, there is no dress code, and you do not need a reservation to get in. The list runs to 48 bottles that change as we go, mostly European and a good share low-intervention, and there is always something open by the glass. The kitchen serves cheese, charcuterie and tapas plates .. no main courses.
If there are more of you
If there are more than a handful of you, write to us beforehand. We cannot always reserve on a night when something is on, but we can tell you whether there is room at all. If you want the place to yourselves, the whole bar can be hired .. there is more about that on the private events page.
The practical bit
We are at Istedgade 29, a five minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station. There is no stage and there are no reserved seats .. if you want to sit down, come well ahead, because the room fills up around an hour before the music starts. The bar stays open between sets.
