Oplev femmandsbandet Solplet, når de fylder Vesterhus med deres ublu blanding af prosapop og folky R’n’B – en jagt på lysglimt gennem hverdagens tunge skymasser. Aftenen byder desuden på et særligt samarbejde med forfatter Frida Sonne, der læser op over improviseret musik og giver en eksklusiv forsmag på sin debutdigtsamling, AT DRUKNE FISK.

What a concert night is like here
There is no stage. The musicians stand on the floor at the end of the room facing the bar, and there are rarely more than four or five metres from the front listener to the back one. That means two things: the sound is acoustic or lightly amplified, so you can talk between numbers without shouting, and there are no bad seats. There are no reserved ones either. The room usually fills up about an hour before the first set, so if you want to sit down, come early. Later on there is normally still standing room along the bar and by the doors onto Istedgade.
What to drink and eat with it
The bar runs as usual all evening, including while the music plays. The wine list is the same as any other night, and there is always something open by the glass so you can taste your way rather than commit to a bottle. With music, bubbles and light reds tend to move fastest .. they ask less of your attention than a big tannic bottle. The kitchen serves cheese, charcuterie and tapas plates throughout. There are no main courses, so if you want a proper meal first, eat elsewhere and come down after, or sit early and build an evening out of several small plates.
The practical bit
We are at Istedgade 29, a five minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station. There is no stage and there are no reserved seats .. if you want to sit down, come well ahead, because the room fills up around an hour before the music starts. The bar stays open between sets.
